By My Spirit

Words and music © 2007 by Shari Marsden

Steppin’ out into a world renown
Looking for a place where I can be found
Livin’ in a world of sorrow
Not sure what to follow
I don’t know if it’s hollow
Can you hear me?

I’m walkin’ on a rope without clear vision
Hopin’ for a glimpse of pure provision
Life seems so confusin’
Well, others find it quite amusin’
Still a journey worth pursuin’
Will you lead me?

Yeah, this love’s a mystery
Story of a man who hung on a tree
In the ancient of days
They say a dead man was raised

It’s not by power nor by might
Not by power nor by might
But by my Spirit
By my Spirit
By my Spirit
Says the Lord

I’m lookin’ at the Word so misunderstood
I don’t live my life the way that I should
That’s not how God sees us
He sees us through the eyes of Jesus
He came to free us
And there is hope in only one
God reveals himself in His only Son
Believe Him today
He is the life, the truth, the way

We’re livin’ in this realm of condemnation
But his love laid down the gift of grace through compensation
It’s God’s amazin’ grace
And it brings us face to face
Come on won’t you run this race?

It’s not by power, nor by might
Not by power, nor by might
But by my Spirit
By my Spirit (He said)
By my spirit (we live)
By my spirit, says the Lord
